Gal Gadot was pregnant during film shooting and demanded strict adherence to the role of Wonder Woman.

She was not allowed to read the script beforehand, and there was no limit to the number of retakes.

According to Screen Rant, one mandatory clause from Warner Bros was that Gal Gadot couldn’t know the content in advance due to security reasons.

She also had to agree to reshoot and film additional scenes as required, with no limitations on the number of takes until the film was released.

In 2017, when director Zack Snyder decided to leave the film “Justice League” due to his daughter’s suicide, the studio invited Joss Whedon to replace him.

The new director requested many changes to the film. Some crew members revealed that Gal Gadot and the entire “Justice League” cast had to shoot an additional 80 pages of new script, not originally planned.

This rule also made it difficult for Gal Gadot to take on other projects in recent years. Since her first role in the “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” project (in 2016), she has hardly participated in any other films outside the DC film universe.

Only after completing “Wonder Woman 1984,” the actress began accepting other projects like “Death on the Nile” and “Red Notice,” scheduled for release at the end of the year.

Limiting the use of stunt actors

Unlike heroes like Batman, Wonder Woman does not wear a mask during combat. This requires the film crew to minimize the use of stunt actors for Gal Gadot.

The actress has experienced many injuries due to action scenes throughout the filming of DC films. In late 2019, she revealed a serious spinal injury after filming “Wonder Woman 1984.”

Strict diet and intensive training schedule

The “Wonder Woman” film series is famous for its visually stunning action scenes, which demand real combat skills with bare hands and weapons. With limited use of stunt actors, Gal Gadot had to spend months honing her combat skills with trainers.

She mainly trained with swords and shields to depict her Amazon warrior character most authentically.

Besides combat training, Gal Gadot was required to maintain a balanced physique throughout the filming of DC films. The previous two films – “Justice League” and “Wonder Woman” – posed significant challenges for Gal Gadot.

She discovered her pregnancy while filming some scenes for “Justice League” and was pregnant during the shooting of “Wonder Woman.” Initially, she kept the pregnancy a secret to avoid interrupting the filming process. However, as her baby bump became visible, the team began limiting action scenes and using post-production CGI technology.

According to The New York Times, the actress starts her day with an omelette, accompanied by bread and fruits, or a nutritious smoothie. About 40% of her diet consists of vegetables. Gal Gadot mostly opts for fish or chicken to supplement the necessary protein for her body.

Her trainers require her to drink about 4 liters of water every day. She admits to having a passion for eating, especially greasy foods like hamburgers and fries. After completing a film, Gal Gadot always rewards herself with a few indulgent meals to make up for the previous period.

Becoming a real-life hero

In addition to the difficulties, Gal Gadot takes great pride in portraying Wonder Woman on screen. However, Warner Bros also requires the actress to become a real-life female hero, serving as an inspiration to women worldwide.

According to TheGamer, one clause in her contract demands that Gal Gadot becomes a role model for women, refraining from actions in real life that could affect Wonder Woman’s image.

The actress actively participates in gender equality activities in Hollywood. In 2016, the United Nations invited Gal Gadot and the character of Wonder Woman as honorary ambassadors for women’s protection activities.

She is also vibrant on social media, always presenting a strong, joyful, energetic, and inspiring image to fans worldwide, radiating energy and inspiration.
